About Us

Innovative Care is a concierge medical practice offering membership-based Internal Medicine and Rheumatology care in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Our practice model allows for longer appointments when you need them, coordination of care, and direct communication with your physician. Innovative Care does not participate with any insurance companies.

Marisa Mizus, MD, MS

With 15 years of experience practicing Medicine, Dr. Marisa Mizus, the owner and solo physician at Innovative Care, is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. After completing medical school at NYU School of Medicine, she completed a Primary Care Residency followed by a Vascular Medicine Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed Rheumatology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Mizus was also an Internal Medicine Hospitalist at Lankenau Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Throughout her career, she participated in research, earning a Masters of Science in Translational Research from the University of Pennsylvania. She has a particular interest in the cardiovascular manifestations and complications of autoimmune diseases and has published and presented her research at various meetings. She continues to collaborate with researchers at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the University of Maryland.

Dr. Mizus is the president of the Maryland Society for Rheumatic Diseases and the Maryland chapter leader of the Association of Women in Rheumatology.
